CBD and Migraines

Posted on
Migraines are not just headaches. They are vascular events causing severe headaches, visual changes, nausea as well as secondary anxiety and cervical muscle spasm. For the people who are unfortunate enough to experience these any relief is desperately needed.   Triggered by a a multitude of factors, migraines impact not just the sufferer but everyone around them. Parenting, for example, is nearly impossible when suffering through a migraine. With the physical demands, let alone the additional mental stress, of a migraine, even the smallest daily tasks can become the largest mountain. Whether it’s doing the laundry or, somehow someway, getting through the clash and clang of pots and pans to cook dinner, all you want to do is shove your head in the sand (or under a mound of blankets) and close the rest of the world out. Some people even get physically ill when a migraine comes around.   Many migraine sufferers struggle to find conventional medicines that help them, often resorting to strong pain killers. If cannabinoids really can reduce the frequency as well as the intensity of migraines, a significant advance in pain management has been made. When cannabinoids bind to cannabinoid type-1 receptors, they block the pain and provide a system wide cascading of events that eliminate the factors that lead to the migraine. In essence, they inhibit the neurotransmission of pain signals and reduce the inflammatory response that is thought to be associated with migraine headaches.   So if you suffer from migraines try some CBD and pain balm, if you tend to get a stiff neck and shoulder pain that is often a side effect of a migraine.  Check out our Pain Support Tincture and Pain Balm. Let us know if this helps you with your migraines!
