Nicotine addiction is still the most prevalent of all addictions. Nicotine is also one of the most addictive substances there is.

Medical science has come up with cures and answers to very many ailments and health problems. As we know our life expectancy is on the rise decade on decade, but addiction still goes unsolved, and smoking cessation is a big market.

The action of CBD on CB1 receptors (as a weak reverse agonist), and its properties as an inhibitor of the enzyme that breaks down the anandamide (FAAH). These actions may be related to a reduction in the boosting properties of nicotine. They also offer some speculation on psychological causes, such as the possible action of CBD in reducing attention on contextual cues that may be involved in maintenance of nicotine consumption.

Perhaps the CBD, by acting as an anxiolytic19, might be a substitute treatment for progressively quitting tobacco, due to the fact that the subject is not as anxious.  There are lots of studies out there concerning CBD and addictions so do your research, but if you or a loved one is trying to break the habit, it never hurts to try something new!
